Fill the School Bus!

As we often see this time of year, many organizations are sponsoring “back to school” or “fill the backpack” or “fill the school bus” type drives. This year, with the extra attendance we had at our Vacation Bible School, we would like to provide extra support of school supplies to the FamilyLink South Austin campus, as well as provide for the needs of a few children in our congregation.

Fill the School Bus!

Please see below a list of general school supplies that would be appreciated, and help us fill the school bus you will find in the Fellowship Hall. Each grade level and each school campus has a much more specific list, and as the foster children vary in age, we feel this general list will give them a good base to start from and then they can fill in specific needs. The South Austin campus generally houses 35 children at a time, so as many supplies as we can provide as possible would be very appreciated. Many stores are having their back-to-school sales right now, so many of these supplies can be picked up inexpensively. (WalMart is a great resource!)

Thank you in advance for your generosity! Many of their children are emergency placements and often come with nothing. Whatever we can provide them will be useful!

Planting the seed of Jesus

Planting the seed of Jesus

We held our Vacation Bible School this year from June 6-9 and used the SonSpark Labs program by Gospel Light. Each day the kids delved into the Bible; they learned about creation, the fall into sin, Jesus’ life and ministry, Jesus’ death and resurrection, and how to show love to others by sharing the gospel.

The four day program was filled with a variety of activities, including fun science experiments, crafts, games, and music. The 19 children in attendance enjoyed learning more about their Savior and discovering different connections using science principles! Thank you to everyone who helped make VBS run so smoothly.
